What 13 Years of 1200+ HP Did to This Cummins

In this video, the Firepunk team begins a full refresh of Lavon Miller’s quad cab build that hasn’t been torn down since 2018. After years of racing, testing, and pushing performance limits, it’s time to bring the truck back to life with updated components, improved fabrication, and lessons learned from years of development in the diesel performance world.  The plan is to completely tear the truck down, clean and sandblast the frame, and rebuild it using updated Firepunk parts and technology. This includes upgrading the fuel system to a newer AirDog 5G setup, installing Firepunk driveshaft loops, traction bars, lowering coils, and refining the overall suspension setup. The team also walks through wiring cleanup, fabrication improvements, and future plans to move toward a standalone ECU system once development testing is complete.  You’ll also get a look inside one of the newest additions to the Firepunk shop: the dedicated wash bay. Built to handle everything from courtesy washes to full paint correction and ceramic coating, this new setup allows Firepunk to keep trucks looking as good as they perform. This build series will follow the process step by step as the team prepares the truck to compete in the 670 index class while continuing to test and develop new parts for the diesel performance community. There’s a lot of work ahead before race season, including getting everything powder coated, dialing in suspension geometry, refining engine components, and preparing the truck for upcoming events like Rudy’s.
