When will the game release? There is no release date yet, because this is a side project that takes lower priority over other Team Salvato projects. However, I hope to provide regular development updates. Is the final game going to be that hard? Many of the attacks in this demo are not particularly fair because I designed them for the purpose of developing game engine features, rather than to be fantastic gameplay. I plan on designing the final game to have a fair and balanced difficulty curve, as well as some handicap options. It will still be very hard, but it will offer you the opportunity to improve your skills and overcome challenges you thought were impossible. Are you working on other games too? Yes, this is my smallest of three upcoming projects. One is a visual novel, and another is a secret. Since this is a side project fueled by a niche passion of mine, I felt comfortable revealing it earlier than my other projects. Can I play this demo? Sadly, this demo hasn't been released to the public (it was designed as a showcase only), but I hope to release a public demo sometime in 2023. Why Amiga? Why this game at all? I love retro gaming platforms and have a special love for Amiga. I grew up with the computer and, over time, became increasingly fascinated with its incredible hardware. It's been a lifelong dream of mine to make an Amiga game. I came up with this game idea specifically as something I thought would be great on Amiga. Who did the graphics/audio/coding/etc.? Consider all graphics and audio to be placeholders that are subject to change. I did the coding, music, SFX, and sprite artwork. The dialogue portraits were done by Chibikki (  / chibikki_ikki  ) with some modifications by me. The background is a free-to-use asset I found online. What language is this game written in? The game is written in m68k Assembly. Amiga handles C quite nicely, but I opted for Assembly in order to achieve maximum performance by working directly with the bare metal. What are the specs of the system? I'm targeting a stock A500 with the trapdoor memory expansion. It has a 7MHz Motorola 68000 CPU and 1MB of RAM (512k for graphics and audio, 512k general purpose). Most notably, Amiga has some special hardware chips, like a coprocessor (copper) and a GPU-like chip (blitter) which can perform tasks in parallel to the CPU, making this game possible. What is Fangame Marathon? It is an annual livestream event dedicated to fangames and mods of all kinds, but with additional focus on the I Wanna Be The Guy fangame community. This game's mechanics are inspired by the IWBTG fangames (especially avoidance games), and I wanted to show my appreciation by premiering this game during their event.
