I am excited to publish today’s episode with Ryan Kosecki. Ryan is GM of the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms, AGM of the NAHL’s Maryland Black Bears, and Head Coach of Fox Motors Hockey Club’s 15U AAA team. He also has a 2012 hockey player son, just like me :) As is typical with these episodes, we dig deep into Ryan’s journey in the sport, his coaching philosophies, what he looks for in players w/ his scout hat on, and his thoughts on player development as a GM, coach, scout, and hockey dad. I admire some of the philosophies Ryan puts forth, and I wonder a) how many others in the hockey world also admire them and b) how many of those same people who admire them put them in practice day-in and day-out.
