Angiosperms are the flowering plants, their ability to flower and fruit makes them the most diverse group of plants. Flowers have male parts (stamens, consisting of anther and filament) and female parts (pistil, consisting of stigma, style and ovary). Plants can have male and female parts on the same flower ("perfect" or synecious flowers), or separate male and female flowers. If the separate flowers are on the same plant, it is monoecious; on separate plants, it is dioecious. Only dioecious plants can be truly male or female, e.g. when selecting male cultivars of trees, verify that they are dioecious in nature. There isn't a big difference in how you manage angiosperms versus gymnosperms, but there is a difference in management for separate groups of angiosperms (monocots vs. dicots).
