M76 is a fantastic Deep sky Object that can be seen through mid to large aperture, It lies within Perseus, half way betewwn Andromeda and Cassiopeia and is a small but wonderful example of a planetary nebula. It is one of the best targets for observing and from imaging in astrophotography. for both I used my 8 inch Newtonian with the QHY163m to gather the data for the live view as well as the light frames for the photo. I ran at 400 ISO 180 sec sub frames over 2 separate sessions. Visual observing The Cluster is easy once you locate it and rewarding with this target as it is a great test of seeing conditions, and you can really tease out detail as you get familiar with it over the months and years. I hope that these videos can give you an idea of how the night sky can look at the eyepiece of a 200 PDS, 200p, 300p flextube or any 200mm 8 inch or 300mm 12 inch reflector telescope and using a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. I find when trying to purchase a telescope, it is hard to find out what you can see through the eyepiece .
