Lindy Chamberlain Creighton was accused of murdering her nine week old daughter Azaria on 17 August 1980. The family was camping near Uluru, then known as Ayers Rock, when Azaria vanished from the tent. Lindy said she saw a wild dingo leave the tent and shouted that the dingo has taken the baby. Despite no body ever being found and without a motive, Lindy was charged in 1982 with murder. Her husband Michael was charged as an accessory. The prosecution relied on forensic evidence that was later discredited, including claims of bloodstains found in the family car. A jury convicted both of them and Lindy received a life sentence. In 1986 a piece of Azaria’s clothing was found near a known dingo location close to Uluru. This discovery supported Lindy’s original account. She was released that year and in 1988 the convictions were overturned. The final inquest in 2012 concluded that a dingo killed Azaria. The case is often used as an example of wrongful conviction and the impact of flawed forensic science and media bias on public opinion and justice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥: We focus only on the psychology and behaviour shown in the clips we watch, in real time.
