In this video I demonstrate why applying carpet protectant after having your rugs cleaned is important. As you can see it rolled right off the carpet remnant and didn't soak to the backing right away. if you leave it too. It will eventually make its way through the backing, so it is still important to blot the area of the spill. We used a solvent based protectant on this as solvent based protectants. Solvents tend to last a little bit longer than the water-based protectant, and have a higher repellency to water based stains. Which on average is the vast majority of spills. Note: This is NOT scotchgard brand. I used Rob's Solvent Sealer. Scotchgard is the most common name for it, so I'm using it as a reference. #carpetprotectant #scotchgard #carpetcleaning
