On Saturday morning, Iran hit Dubai International Airport with a drone strike that injured four staff and forced evacuations. Terminal 3, the world's busiest international travel hub, sustained minor damage as black smoke billowed into the sky. Hours later, a second strike hit the airport again. In Abu Dhabi, Zayed International Airport was struck, killing one person and wounding seven. The UAE Ministry of Defense reported that Iran fired 174 ballistic missiles, 689 drones, and 8 cruise missiles at the country, with 161 missiles and 645 drones intercepted but debris causing fires across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Iran also hit Al Dhafra airbase south of Abu Dhabi where US forces are stationed. The UAE closed its airspace, shuttered its embassy in Tehran, and withdrew diplomats. Dubai, which built its reputation as a safe, sunny, tax-free oasis in the Middle East, watched that image shatter as Iranian missiles rained down on the city's most iconic locations. The Ministry of Defense said air defenses intercepted 165 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles, and over 540 drones over two days, but falling debris sparked fires across the city. While Iran was hitting the UAE, Israel launched its first strikes on Iranian oil infrastructure. On Saturday evening, Israeli warplanes struck oil storage depots and refining facilities in Tehran for the first time since the war began. The IDF said it hit several fuel storage complexes used by Iran's military, acting on intelligence guidance. Massive fires erupted at storage facilities as explosions rocked Tehran. Video showed huge fires lighting up the skyline and thick plumes of smoke rising into the night sky. The Shahran fuel facility in northwestern Tehran was engulfed in flames.
