Over the past two years, Ek Potlee Ret Ki has spent significant time working in Kashmir; listening, learning, and building trust with young artists in a place where art is both a lifeline and a risk. We’ve seen a creative surge among young Kashmiris, with contemporary music becoming a stage for their voices, but that stage is overwhelmingly male. Women remain behind the curtain, their creativity silenced by custom, conflict, and control. That is why we are raising support for Sshhh!, Kashmir’s first all-women contemporary music album. Sshhh! is an anonymous collective of young Kashmiri women crafting songs in secrecy, their voices rising from shuttered rooms, recorded on borrowed phones, and pieced together in stolen hours past midnight. For them, this album is not just music - it is breath, memory, defiance, and the act of reclaiming their place in the world. Ek Potlee Ret Ki has brought it this far with what we had. Now we’re inviting you to help us finish it, funding professional mastering, studio time, artwork, and distribution so it can stand on global stages.
