Veteran BJP leader CP Radhakrishnan has been elected as the 15th Vice President of India, succeeding Jagdeep Dhankhar. At 67, he is the third leader from Tamil Nadu to hold the post. Backed by the NDA and YSRCP, Radhakrishnan secured 452 votes—much higher than expected—defeating opposition INDIA bloc nominee Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, who polled 350. The margin indicates cross-voting in favour of the NDA candidate.
