We’ve got Mat in the all-new BMW M5, and he’s going up against the two previous generations - the F90 and F10! The all-new G90 has come under a bit of criticism for its weight, but will that prove decisive? Let’s take a closer look at the stats. Starting with the new G90, it’s powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled with an electric motor. These combine to produce an incredible 727hp and 1000Nm, and this power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It tips the scales at a mighty 2,435kg, and as new it costs from £111,000. Alongside it, we have the F90 Competition. It also has a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this creates 625hp and 750Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto, and it weighs 1,895kg. When new, it cost around £109,000. Then finally we have the F10. It’s also packing a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this produces 575hp and 680Nm. It’s the only rear wheel drive car here, with the power sent to that set of tyres by a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
