This is the landmark segment of DIY Travel - Sofia and the host Charles Huang will visit three of Bulgaria's capital Sofia's most recognizable and historic landmarks. First being the Statue of Holy Sophia or Statue of Sveta Sofia, erected in 2000, stands in a spot once occupied by a statue of Lenin. Second being Banya Bashi Masjid, the only functioning mosque in Sofia, a remnant of the Ottoman rule of Bulgaria that lasted nearly five centuries. designed by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan and completed in 1566, during the years the Ottomans had control of the city. Finally, the Central Mineral Baths, built in the early 20th century near the former Turkish bath which is destroyed and was used as the city's public baths until 1986. Now houses the Sofia Regional Historical Museum.
