Working With Black Velour Pastel Paper. How To Draw On Velour Paper

In this video tutorial I am working with velour pastel paper and we are learning how to draw on velour paper. I am using Hahnemuhle Velour Black Paper to create a little fantasy picture and learning about qualities of velour paper. In this video I tried to put together some useful information about this paper. The list of pastels and coloured pencils I was using you can find below: UNISON, Soft Pastel - probably is the best for this paper, it gives a good colour and not too much pastel dust. The next three brands work well but are softer and creating more dust, still very good because producing radiant colours: JACKSON'S, Hand Made Soft Pastel SCHMINKE, Soft Pastel SENNELIER, Soft Pastel Very soft pastels, like for example - BLUE EARTH are way too soft for this paper. The hard pastels: FABER CASTELL, Pitt Monochrome Crayons CARAN D'ACHE, Pastel Cubes - working really well. The harder brands like - CONTE A PARIS, Colour Crayons - are too hard for this paper and hardly produce any colour. FABER CASTELL, Pitt Pastel Pencils CARAN D'ACHE, Pastel pencils working really well with the velour paper The next pastel pencils are not the best for the velour paper: STABILO, Carbothello Pastel pencils CONTE A PARIS, Pastel Pencils Almost all coloured paencils I tried worked really well on the velour pastel paper: -DEREWENT, Coloursoft Pencils (are my favourite for this paper) FABER CASTELL, Polychromos Pencils CARAN D'ACHE, Luminance Colour Pencils.
