President Russell M. Nelson recently reminded us, “Now is the time for you and for me to prepare for the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.” This message addresses the understandable anxiety some feel when hearing about His return—especially young children—and offers clear counsel for overcoming those fears. Drawing on the Savior’s parables of the ten virgins, the talents, and the separation of the sheep and goats, the talk teaches that personal preparation is key. We are encouraged to receive the gospel truth, seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost through sincere prayer and scripture study, and develop our unique abilities by serving others. By doing so, we create a life of joyful optimism and readiness for His coming, dispelling anxiety with faith and love. This message invites all to trust in the Savior’s teachings, follow the promptings of the Spirit, and actively use our gifts to lift those around us. In preparing our hearts, we not only ready ourselves to meet our Redeemer but also help bring others closer to Him—a vital part of preparing for His Second Coming. Rejoice and prepare, for though no one knows the exact day, His return will be a day of joy and eternal rest.
