UK government's Rwanda plan is 'ridiculous and inhuman'

The United Kingdom government is "failing horribly" to tackle the deadly and desperately sad surge in migrants reaching the country by boat, says Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan. "More than 7,000 people have sailed illegally to the UK this year alone," Mr Morgan said. "Many of them are being trafficked by vile, people-smuggling gangs who extort the migrants and send them to risk their lives in perilous dinghies. "Dozens have tragically died on these crossings – it's dangerous, it's wrong and it has to stop. "But the government's plan to spend £120 million flying thousands of migrants on a one-way ticket to Rwanda is ridiculous and inhuman." Mr Morgan said the plan was "already collapsing into farce". "This Rwanda fiasco smacks of headline grabbing tokenism," he said.
