I drove the new all-electric 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning for 500 miles and guess what? It's pretty freaking sweet. In fact, the F-150 Lightning gets my vote for the best work truck out there right now. It's easy to charge up at home or on the work site. It's rugged, has a comfortable ride, and plenty of power. The only major drawbacks to the F-150 Lightning are the same as every other electric vehicle out there. Its range is a little low, the battery drains quickly when towing, and the charge station infrastructure is just not there yet. All that aside, this EV truck is a rock-solid contender for your everyday family car or work truck...if you can afford it. Starting price is $56,000 and the Platinum model I tested is a whopping $99,000. Ouch.
