Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by Hertfordshire county councillor Michelle Vince, who was warned by police that she could be investigated if she continued to help parents who had criticised their daughter’s primary school. Times Radio producer Maxie Allen and his partner Rosalind Levine say they were held at a police station for 11 hours after being detained on suspicion of harassment, malicious communications, and causing a nuisance on school property. The couple say they had previously been banned from entering Cowley Hill Primary School, in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, after questioning the recruitment process for a head teacher and criticising the leadership in a parents’ WhatsApp group. Michelle says the case raises serious questions about police “taking away democratic rights” from elected representatives.
