NTSA Hosts Training and Simulation Industry Symposium

Professionals of the modeling, simulation and training industry gathered for the Training and Simulation Symposium, also known as “TSIS,” in Orlando, Florida, June 12th through the 13th. TSIS represents one of Central Florida’s largest annual modeling and simulation conferences where colleagues from government, academia and industry sectors can network and experience the latest tech advances. This year’s meeting was the biggest TSIS conference on record, with over 1000 attendees.Kyle Zick, President, Bugeye Technologies, said “It's a great opportunity, kind of mid-year, to get some face-to-face time with others in the industry. I know, myself, not being located here in Orlando, it’s important for me to come down and get some face-to-face time with a lot of the other companies that that we partner with and do business with and just kind of catch up with them.”Over two days, participants attended a variety of discussion panels, briefs and presentations featuring senior leaders of Orlando’s modeling and simulation community. During these sessions, they updated attendees on the state of their organizations, as well as other events and trends affecting business concerns.Mick Golson, President/COO, Engineering and Computer Simulations, said “Last year, the government introduced the requirements for AI, and this year, they elaborated on that and went a lot deeper by defining what their understanding of AI is, and what they’re looking for from industry. And as an industry partner who is involved in AI, we have a path forward on how to invest our dollars in R&D.” The next major modeling and simulation conference in Orlando will be the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference, also known as I/ITSEC, later in December.
