Flip and Flop arrived at RSPCA Bluebell Ridge when they were only a few days old. These tiny babies came from a multi-cat household where an incredible 15 cats were taken into our care. Their start in life was far from easy, but these courageous kittens have shown nothing but resilience, spirit, and sweetness. Not long after arriving, the little ones developed ringworm, a fungal skin infection. Because they were so young and fragile, we had to wait until they were older and stronger before beginning treatment. While they were still recovering from this, they were then struck by a virus that caused severe conjunctivitis. With expert care, round-the-clock attention, and a lot of love, we saved their eyes—and their bright futures. These kittens have been through so much, but you would never know it from their playful pounces, loud purrs, and affectionate nature. However, due to their health history, they are likely carriers of cat flu, so they must be homed without other cats. They may also be able to live with cat-savvy dogs, and we feel they would do well in a home with primary school–aged children who can handle them gently and calmly. The pair are like a whirlwind of energy and love. Flop can be very soppy when he is in the mood, enjoying lots of fuss. Flip tends to be the more playful of the two, but both have plenty of energy and love to play, especially if ping-pong balls and catnip are involved. They are both, like most kittens, very inquisitive and mischievous. These little miracles have made a huge impact on the team here at Bluebell Ridge. We’ve watched them fight, grow, and finally thrive and although we will miss them dearly, we know it’s time for them to spread their wings and blossom in loving homes.
