Amazing robotic brussels sprout harvester! | World premiere | Tumoba | Brussels sprout harvest

A lot of hand labour is required when growing brussels sprouts. A robotic harvesting machine has been on the wish list of many growers for a long time and development has been undergoing for 20 years or more. Vegetable harvesting specialist Tumoba from the Netherlands have now build a prototype robotic harvester. This gigantic machine can harvest 4 rows at a time but requires only 1 operator for the whole process. That results in a massive labour saving. We catch up with this amazing machine on a windy January day in the Dutch polders. The machine has been top secret until now but we were lucky to be able to film it in action. It is used on the farm of Gebr. Herbert. A family farm that specialises in vegetables, mainly brussels sprouts, that are grown both conventionally and organically. They run 5 Tumoba harvesters and this robotic one for the first time this year.
