Rev. Chris and Rev. Steve give Bible answers to questions submitted by members and partners 1 – Q: Luke 2;52 says, And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. How could Jesus have increased in favor any further in God’s eyes? Also, what definition of favor is used in this scripture? Does favor here mean being pleasing and approved by God and people, or does it mean that His character began to reflect God's traits, such as love and righteousness, as He grew in wisdom, similar to how we take on God’s nature when we are born again? 2 – Q: Is it possible for us to be justified in avoiding a brother or sister in Christ? I know God calls us to be unified in the Spirit, but what if their presence makes us feel stirred or uncomfortable? Is there ever biblical justification in the eyes of God for avoidance? 3 – Q: Jesus said in Matthew 16;28, Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. When Jesus spoke these words, everyone who heard Him had long since died. So what did He mean, and to whom was He referring? 4 – Q: When you want fast for someone to receive a healing, can you sacrifice something you like to do instead of giving up food? 5 – Q: What happens if a person doubts their salvation? Can they lose it, and should they start over from the beginning? 6 – Q: I would like an explanation of Luke 16;8-9, And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. How does this apply to us? 7 – Q: I am a backslider. I have been asking God to help me, but I don’t believe He hears me. What can I do?
