St Olavsleden, Sundsvall to Trondheim with a lot of variations, 2022

A solo trip, I set off from Sundsvall, on the Baltic Coast, hoping to walk across Sweden and Norway, ending up in Trondheim. I had an amazing time, even though I did change my plans halfway. The walking was initially mainly through dense forests, following a huge chain of lakes, and incredibly beautiful. I saw next to no-one - either on the trail or in the evenings. I didn't camp as much as I expected to, but used a lot of cabins. On reaching Östersund, I had a couple of days rest and met up with some lovely friends. I then decided that I'd had enough of the St Olavsleden trail, and headed to the Jämtland Mountains instead. I spent a week here exploring the area around Vålådalen Fjällstation. By this time (after about 4 weeks altogether) I got hit quite badly with a bit of homesickness, and decided to catch the train to Trondheim instead of walking another week. It was nevertheless, an absolutely fantastic experience ❤️
