An Incredible Scramble up Bristly Ridge (4K)

Join me on this stunning scramble up Bristly Ridge within the Glyderau in Snowdonia. The route starts at the top of Dexter Gully, which is one of several ways to get onto Bristly Ridge proper. Dexter Gully was a fun scramble up over lots of loose scree and steep ledges, and topping out gave me a chance to enjoy the view across to Tryfan. The scramble up Bristly Ridge is a fairly sustained grade 1, but there are several notable points of interest: 1) The initial scramble up one the gullies; whether it's Sinister or Dexter, both are short but steep while Sinister is slightly easier and the holds are more secure. 2) A steep drop; between the top of the gullies and The Great Pinnacle Gap. There is one section (5:33) where a line slightly to the right is easier. 3) The descent into The Great Pinnacle Gap (12:24); taking a left line here is best, then take a right into the gap following the well-worn rocks, bypassing the huge towering pinnacle. 4) Ascending out of The Great Pinnacle Gap (14:04); a decent bit of scrambling here, easier than it looks if you follow the well-polished/worn rocks. To finish the footage, I took some shots of the Snowdon Range from Glyder Fach. As a continuation, I hiked to Glyder Fawr, descended to Llyn y Cwn and then slogged it up to Y Garn before making my back to the A5 via Llyn Idwal, but I've cut his footage as it doesn't involve any scrambling.
