YouTube included in youth social media ban, federal government confirms | ABC NEWS

The federal government will include YouTube in its planned social media ban for young people, despite Google threatening the government with legal action if YouTube isn’t exempt.  The video-sharing site was originally left out of the ban for under-16s due to its educational content.  Following advice from the eSafety Commissioner, YouTube will now be subject to new minimum age obligations, along with other restricted platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
