DJI Neo 2 Follow Test on MTB Trails | 5 Crashes and Still Flying

Today I tested the DJI Neo 2 in real riding conditions, focusing on the Rear Follow tracking mode while riding MTB trails. The test starts on relatively open trails with few obstacles, where the drone performs very well, and then moves into narrow forest paths full of branches, bushes and rocks. During the ride the drone crashed at least 5 times, mostly after hitting branches while trying to keep up. This tends to happen when riding faster: if the drone slows down to avoid an obstacle, it then tries to accelerate aggressively to keep you in frame, which sometimes leads to collisions. The propeller guards help a lot, preventing many crashes, but they can’t save it every time. The worst crash happened during rear follow at low altitude, when the drone slammed directly into a small stone ramp on the trail. Despite all this, the durability of the drone is impressive. It kept flying perfectly and the only damage is a few small scratches.
