The upcoming session will focus on significant issues, including the caste census report, the dedicated commission’s report on backward classes (BC) reservations in local polls, and the proposal for the sub-categorisation of Scheduled Castes (SC). The government is expected to clarify its stance on increasing BC reservations and the categorisation of SCs into four sub-groups. These decisions are essential for the issuance of new job notifications, which have been on hold since October 2024, and for enhancing reservations in education and employment for BCs.
