Rita SP Extreme+ path (Cocoa Bomb + Right Path, x8 damage) cleared on BEX difficulty without Consumables or Buffs. I believe this is quite a luck-based fight; had little to do with actual skillful play to be honest. Simply put; Rita on Extreme+ has an absolutely ridiculous amount of HP, I dont have actual numbers, but if someone did some data mining, I wouldt be surprised if she had the highest HP pool out of any boss in the whole game. Your normal attacks hardly do any noticeable damage to her- even things that normally do a ton of damage, such as Rainbow Charged Spam, Bunny Memories, or even Purple Boost strat; they hardly contribute to bringing down her HP in any reasonable amount of time... The ONLY thing that does good damage to her, is the snowflakes gimmick going on in this one fight. These deal fixed damage, so no matter her level or HP, it will still hurt her the same. Basically, you rely on snowflakes to do any real damage to Rita. Heres the issue: after a certain point, the attacks she does are entirely random. Not all attacks have the same amount of snowflakes in them... In order to win this fight, you are largely at the mercy of RNG: If Rita decides to spam a bunch of attacks that offer little to no snowflakes, then you are kinda screwed; the oppositive is also true, and it will almost be a free win as long as you dont screw up (And practiced the static parts such as the platforms segment) I tried my best to route this to minimize the RNG aspect as much as I could, but the truth is, you NEED good luck in at least 2 particular points: 1) Everything from the very start to the 2:16 attack is mostly fixed- they may have 1-2 variations, but for the most of the part you can notice a fixed-ish set pattern going on here. On a good attempt, you ideally will have 2500-3000 out of the 4000 snowflakes you need. You better hope Rita uses a good attack to get the last 1000 or so in order to reach 4000 snowflakes. I was lucky here and she decided to do 2:48, which is probably the best attack you can get for snowflakes. But all too often she decided to use other, bad attacks instead, ruining the attempt... 2) Right after platforms segment: Again, everything she can do here is RNG. Just hope she uses the ones with tons of snowflakes with them... What makes this fight truly ridiculous, is when she reaches critical HP (Numbers show up in the HP bar) and she gets Defense Up buff- Keep in mind she was ALREADY tanky to begin with, this makes her downright overpowered. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING will deal decent damage at this point, I believe not even Bunny Memories with +75% Rank attack w/ Crisis Boost and ATK Trade while Ribbon is boosting for Atk Up is enough to finish her off. She simply has THAT much HP & Def... The only thing that can reliably finish her off at this point is some sort of fixed damage- that is, the snowflakes. Its the only way. Believe me I tried other methods, but its just not really reasonable- at least without Consumables. So, try to survive and just hope she uses good attacks. You pretty much will need both Fairy Flute and Bunny Memories for this. Because of the Defense Up she gets on low HP, you may also want her to be as low level as possible, so you can make sure the snowflakes can finish her off in time (The lower the level, the less HP she has, and the lower the activation point for the "Low HP" state is... right? I think thats how it works). TL;DR Fight is kind of luck based since the only way to do meaninful damage is with the Snowflakes- which are random in amount each run. I found some cool uses for Bunny Memories though. First of all, it seems like every time you activate it, it forces a "Stop!" bar for the hits meter. This is quite useful in order to maintain your Rank in the very start of the fight; normally you lose it all while selecting your path- you can prevent this rank loss with it. Might ultimately not matter too much due to the aforementioned damage issues, but every little bit helps. You can also use Bunny Memories in order to tank some of the attacks/for safety. Not usually a viable strategy, but, at x8 Damage, Rita hits like a TRUCK- so it might be a good idea to play it safe and use Bunny Memories "activating" animation in hard attacks- a couple of 70ish-100 damage ticks are better than suddenly taking 800+ damage , trust me. You DONT want to trigger Fairy Flute until after the platform segment, so basically, you cant afford to get hit even once at the beginning. You also ideally dont want to activate Bunny Memories until that point either, you may abuse the starting up animation to tank, but never let it actually finish- just cancel it with an Amulet. I honestly dont think this was intended to be done w/o Consumables or Buffs to be honest. Get Rabi-Ribi here! https://store.steampowered.com/app/40...
