From Hit Scene (ABC-TV Australia) June 6 1970 - other sources have it as June 13. The song was released as a single in April 1968 when the band was known as The Dream. It had been recorded by US soul singer Al Wilson the previous year. Here, they are introduced by their later name The New Dream. Hit Scene started in 1969 so it's presumably not a repeat of a previous performance there but a reminder of an earlier single. Jenny Johnston (keyboards) is not present in this video due to a recent back injury caused by a falling speaker cabinet! Band member Jack McGrath expanded on the circumstances behind this video on the Milesago Facebook page, October 2 2021: "... (in my opinion) the best (and first) song the Dream/New Dream ever did. Only two people, in this video had anything to do with this record which was produced by Pat Aulton at Festival studios in Sydney - Alex Kadell (Opitz) and myself. I think it was DJ, Ken Sparkes who suggested this Al Wilson song as a debut single. Stan Rofe was also very supportive at the time. The Dream began after a merger of the Final Four (Grand Central Station) and two of the Changing Times. The line up: Alex and myself sharing lead vocal duties, Jenny Johnston (Vox organ), Peter Nicoll (guitar), Terry Stirzaker (bass) and Mick Archer (drums). Apart from Mick, everyone sang. This edition of Hit Scene was recorded after the New Dream’s ‘Groupie’ as not only had Peter left by then, but also Roger Treble. The band had reduced to five piece and, with my departure imminent, was soon to become a quartet. As mentioned in comments Jenny was incapacitated on the day. Peter Reed hadn’t updated the name on the drum kit. Oh…and the strong female voice at the end? The talented Michelle Kennedy - the wife of Don Mudie of the Groop, Axiom etc. fame."
