It points toward resurrection. Thorns are temporary. Glory is eternal. Suffering does not define us — it refines us. Short Story / Testimonial A family lost their home in a fire. Though devastating, the outpouring of community support rebuilt not only their house but their faith in humanity. Loss became testimony. Black History Connection – Robert Smalls Born enslaved, he commandeered a Confederate ship in 1862 and delivered it to Union forces, securing freedom for himself and others. Connection: He moved from bondage to leadership, later serving in Congress. Lesson: Thorns do not prevent thrones — they prepare us for them. Closing Prayer Lord, help me see beyond present suffering. Strengthen my hope in the glory to come. Lead me from thorns to the throne of Your grace. Amen.
