I’m about to attempt what Bugatti themselves told me was impossible. After the owner crashed his multi-million $ Bugatti Chiron, Bugatti refused to provide any structural parts or support for the repair. So we’re doing it ourselves, in my UK workshop, with basic tools, a welder, and a lot of stubbornness. The Bugatti Chiron came from a specialist salvage auction in Europe with severe front and chassis damage after a high-speed crash. On the listing, it looked like a “simple” front-end rebuild: smashed carbon front clip, broken suspension, blown airbags. But when we got it back to my Leicester workshop and got it up on the lift, we found twisted carbon tubs, cracked magnesium components, damaged cooling systems, wiring issues, and hidden frame damage that most people would run a mile from. Bugatti told us this Chiron was a total loss and should never be repaired. No access to structural parts, no diagrams, and absolutely no support. Insurance had already written it off as beyond economical repair. But I wanted to prove that with enough time, skill, and creativity, you can bring even the most impossible supercar rebuild back from the dead. Over the next few months, we completely stripped the Bugatti down to its bare carbon tub. We rebuilt the damaged sections using custom jigs, specialist carbon repair, and precision measurements. The most challenging part was aligning the front chassis rails and suspension pick-up points to factory tolerances without any official data. We had to 3D scan, fabricate, and work with independent specialists to recreate parts Bugatti wouldn’t sell us.
