Feeling alone does not mean you are alone. In this deeply comforting talk, Belal Assaad reflects on the beautiful names and attributes of Allah, focusing on one name that changes how a believer sees hardship, loneliness, and duʿā’: Al-Qarīb — The Ever-Near. Allah’s names are not just descriptions; they are lessons. They teach us who Allah is and how we are meant to relate to Him. While Allah’s attributes are perfect and limitless, He calls us to embody traces of them in our human way — mercy, forgiveness, justice, and compassion. 🌿 Al-Qarīb — The One Who Is Always Near Allah’s nearness is not physical. It is spiritual, emotional, protective, and responsive. Allah is near: to bless and comfort to help and protect to listen and respond to carry you when you feel weak Unlike people, Allah never grows tired, impatient, or annoyed by someone turning back to Him again and again. 🧒 A Personal Story of Loneliness and Faith Belal shares a powerful memory from his teenage years — being practicing, committed, and yet ridiculed, even by other Muslims. At his lowest moments, his father reminded him of one truth that anchored his heart: “Allah will never leave you.” That sentence became a lifeline. 🔁 Nearness Is a Two-Way Relationship Allah is near — but to feel that nearness, a person must reach back. Through: faith obedience duʿā’ turning back sincerely The relationship grows stronger. Allah says in the Qur’an: “I am near. I respond to the call of the caller when they call upon Me.” (2:186) This verse appears in the middle of verses about fasting, teaching us that: struggle brings closeness sacrifice draws divine nearness pain is often where Allah is closest The wording of the verse is universal — anyone who calls upon Allah is included. But believers experience a special closeness because they choose it. 🤲 What Does It Mean That Allah “Responds”? Allah’s response to duʿā’ is not always what we expect. He may: give what you asked for delay it for a better time avert a harm you never saw save it as reward for the Hereafter Allah always responds — but with wisdom, not impulse. And as mentioned in the hadith qudsi: When My servant draws near to Me, I draw nearer to them. The closer you go to Allah, the closer He comes to you — even more. 🕊 Final Reminder If you feel abandoned, unheard, or distant — it is not because Allah left. It is because this life is teaching you to turn back. Allah is near. Always. Closer than you think. #BelalAssaad #AllahIsNear #AlQareeb #Dua #Tawakkul #IslamicReminder #QuranReflection #HealingHearts #FaithInHardship #NeverAlone #NamesOfAllah #SpiritualComfort #IslamicLecture #ReturnToAllah
