“Tracce di vita – Castilenti” è un breve documentario dedicato a questo borgo della Val Fino, incastonato tra colline di ulivi, vigneti e il profilo lontano del Gran Sasso.​ Attraverso lo sguardo silenzioso di Rachele, il video attraversa i vicoli del centro storico, la piazza dominata dalla chiesa di Santa Vittoria e le tracce delle famiglie che nei secoli hanno plasmato il paese.​ Il cuore del racconto è la festa di Santa Lucia: il rito dell’alba, rischiarato quasi solo dalle candele, e la processione accompagnata dalla banda, in cui la comunità si riconosce come unita nei giorni più bui dell’anno.​​ Fuori dal borgo, il convento di Santa Maria del Monte Oliveto apre un’altra dimensione: il chiostro seicentesco, gli affreschi dedicati alla vita di Maria e le storie di frati, missionari e personaggi che hanno portato il nome di Castilenti oltre oceano.​​ Nel finale, tre antiche pietre nella piazza – il cippo romano, il Lapis Pedicinus e il Tommolo – diventano simboli di strade, lavoro e giustizia, segni concreti di una memoria che ancora oggi abita il borgo.​ “Tracce di vita – Castilenti” è un invito a scoprire un piccolo paese d’Abruzzo attraverso le sue feste, i suoi luoghi e le persone che li tengono vivi.​ “Tracce di vita – Castilenti” is a short documentary set in this small village of the Val Fino valley, surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and rolling hills with the Gran Sasso mountains on the horizon.​ Through Rachele’s silent gaze, the film walks through the narrow streets of the historic center, the main square dominated by the church of Santa Vittoria, and the traces of the noble families that shaped the village over the centuries.​ At the heart of the story lies the feast of Saint Lucy: the dawn ritual lit almost only by candles, and the procession accompanied by the town band, where the community comes together in the darkest days of the year.​​ Just outside the village, the former convent of Santa Maria del Monte Oliveto opens onto another dimension: a 17th‑century cloister, frescoes dedicated to the life of Mary, and the stories of friars and missionaries who carried the name of Castilenti across the ocean.​​ In the final scene, three ancient stones in the main square – a Roman milestone, the Lapis Pedicinus and the “Tommolo” – become symbols of roads, work and justice, tangible signs of a memory that still inhabits the village today.​ “Tracce di vita – Castilenti” is an invitation to discover a lesser‑known corner of Abruzzo through its feasts, places and the people who keep them alive.
