"Slum Freedom" is a moving, emotional film by Kieran Hodges and Matt Farman about the local kids of our skate park project in the Kitintale Township in Kampala /Uganda, who speak for themselves and tell us what skateboarding means to them. skate-aid has been active in Kampala since 2010. Our project partner on site is the Uganda Skateboard Union with its president Jackson Mubiru. The skate park is now a meeting place for the kids from the township and the USU is like a replacement family for many of them. This is not just about skateboarding, but also about creating a stable social environment, as only very few children and teenagers know there. 2019, the park will be expanded again and gradually developed into a complete youth center in the future. Hier geht es nicht nur ums Skateboarden, sondern auch um die Schaffung eines stabilen sozialen Umfelds, wie es dort nur die wenigsten Kinder und Jugendlichen kennen. Für das Jahr 2019 soll der Park nochmal erweitert werden und in Zukunft Schritt für Schritt zu einem vollständigen Jugendzentrum ausgebaut werden.
