CEOS / Presidents from UNC Health facilities discuss hospital operations and planning for Rural Hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Guests: Tommy Williams – Interim CEO Johnston Health (Smithfield / Clayton) Janie Jaberg – President & CEO Wayne UNC Health Care (Goldsboro) Jeff Strickler – President Chatham Hospital & COO Hillsborough Hospital (Siler City) Williams is Johnston Health Interim CEO and a long-time leader at UNC REX Healthcare in Raleigh, currently serving as vice president of Ambulatory and overseeing construction of a new community hospital in Holly Springs. He will continue oversight of that project while serving as interim CEO at Johnston Health. He is a registered respiratory therapist. Jaberg has served as President & CEO of Wayne UNC Health since November 2016. She previously served as vice president and consultant for 24 years with Choice Decision, Inc. Prior to that, Jaberg held senior leadership roles within the Carolinas Healthcare System (now Atrium). She is also a Registered Nurse (RN). Strickler has been with UNC Hospitals since 2003. He is currently President of Chatham Hospital and COO for Hillsborough Hospital. Previously, he was the Clinical Nurse Director responsible for Emergency Services at UNC Medical Center. His clinical background is as a Registered Nurse and Paramedic with extensive experience in Emergency, Trauma and Transport Nursing.
