Spiritual Babies in the Buganda Traditional Religious Reliefs

Women giving birth to babies in their dreams is a very common thing but in the Buganda traditional religious beliefs, it was is still not considered an ordinary dream. To them it means the ancestors have a demand and they need to be appeased therefore the woman is required to make a "baby doll" out of banana fibre or buy an already manufactured doll and take it to the shrine as a form of acknowledgement and respect for the ancestors' demand. The doll is then taken to a specific hut as shown in the video and rituals are done on it in the presence of the woman which includes summoning the ancestors in a bid to inquire what their demands are so they can be fulfilled, otherwise if this is not done, the Baganda traditional priests claim the woman will not be able to give birth to a physical baby or she will keep getting miscarriages.
