(3 Jun 2016) FOR CLEAN VERSION SEE STORY NUMBER: apus056790 Medical marijuana dispensaries in Oregon may now legally sell edibles and extracts to recreational users who do not have a medical marijuana card. On Thursday, the first day of the new sales program, recreational users flocked to stores to try out cannabis-laced truffles, rich chocolate bars, cannabis oil and even ice cream. The Oregon Liquor Control Commission is in the process of licensing producers and expects to authorize recreational shops later this year. Under the current program, one dose of cannabis-infused edible can have no more than 15 milligrams of THC; consumers can buy up to 1 gram of oil or cannabis extract. Marijuana entrepreneurs have been gearing up for Thursday's business for weeks. Edibles had already been available for legal sale to medical marijuana card holders.
