This historic temple is believed to date back to the 8th–9th century and is surrounded by beautiful Casuarina forests near a peaceful and secluded beach. For many centuries, the temple was buried under huge sand dunes due to natural coastal changes. Later, during the reign of King Langula Narasingh Dev, the sand was removed and the temple was rediscovered. During the excavation, another temple dedicated to Goddess Parvati was also found nearby. This temple is not only spiritually important but also archaeologically significant. Today, Sri Baba Bateswar Temple stands as a symbol of Odisha’s rich heritage, history, and devotion to Lord Shiva.
