When Maleficent has gone missing, Diaval and Aurora worry about her. Maleficent has found the other Dark Fey and Diaval is afraid that now that she has her own kind back, she will leave her family behind and does not need him anymore to fly with her in his raven form. She can even find her own mate now... But Diaval has sworn to serve his Mistress and do everything to make her happy. So after Aurora's wedding he stays behind, determined that Maleficent is so eager to fly away with the other Fey that she has forgotten to change him back into a raven. But then Maleficent turns around, asking how long he wants to stand around and make her wait. The wink she gives him is more flirtatious than Diaval has ever seen her. The time away has made Maleficent realize how much she missed him after having him around every day for the last 23 years. She has met other Fey, but seeing them only made her see that her heart had been ready for the love that has been there all along. Diaval is eager to follow and they fly home together into the sunset.
