I DO NOT own LORD OF THE RINGS OR THE SONG IN THIS VIDEO, and therefore make no money from this or any of the other videos I have posted here. So... I was looking through my projects folder, and noticed the folder for this song. I remember that I wanted to make a video for this song, but had no idea that it was almost complete, i.e. missing 13.18 seconds. I decided to watch it, and it totally broke my heart. Normally my own videos don't punch me in the gut (the song itself played a huge part in that, at least for me). I even contemplated leaving the 13.18 seconds empty, and posting as is, but... I realized I could simply shift the ending over, and end the song a little early. Yes I know it's very sad, but I'm really proud of this one! Sidenote: This video takes place post ROTK, and is almost completely in the past. Anything not vignette style (bordered), is present tense. The black and white is from Aragorn's POV, the Sepia is from Legolas' POV, and some memories are visited from both perspectives. Aragorn and Legolas had been lovers for a long time in secret. When Arwen finds out, she confronts him about it, and he doesn't deny it. She tells Elrond, and in believing that human's will never accept Aragorn as their King if he has a male lover, Elrond seeks them out in the night. He convinces Aragorn to leave Legolas. At the Council of Elrond, before they depart on the quest for the one ring, Elrond announces that Aragorn is engaged to his daughter Arwen. Legolas flies into a rage, and Aragorn forces him to yield. After the quest is complete, Legolas as Prince of the woodland realm, is forced to attend Aragorn's wedding. From this day forward, Aragorn yearns for the elf he truly loves, and Legolas begins to descend into madness. Aragorn, knowing he will never again be worthy of Legolas' love, sets out to find him, with the hope that he can be forgiven. Unknown to Aragorn, Legolas is fading fast, and his brothers are rushing him to the final ship to sail for the undying lands, so that he can become whole once more.
