Car Seatbelt Not Locking in Buckle | How to Fix!

So I had this seatbelt that would not latch on to the buckle and lock as it was supposed to. The belt could still be fastened by first pushing down the button on the side and then - while holding the button pushed down - insert the belt into the buckle and then release the button. The safety inspector people however thought this was apparently not a good enough hack so I set out to find out what was actually wrong. Turns out the metal piece that is supposed to retract the metal pin and move it out of the way when the belt enters the buckle was missing. And since the metal pin did not move out of the way like it was supposed to, the belt could not be inserted normally. Luckily though the metal piece was not actually missing, but instead stuck down the bottom. And after some fiddling I was able to make it snap back up and into place again. And since this time the safety inspector people felt everything was working like normal again I figured perhaps showcasing what I actually did to fix it might help someone else as well. The car in the video is a Ford S-Max (2014) but belt buckles usually have very similar designs so I’m guessing this can help on other cars as well.
