Difference of the Undatus from the Megalanthus From observation it looks like there are two different varieties of megalanthus growing in the backyard. Areas of the two plants that were compared were: 1) color of flower - the tips of the flower on one variety is the only red colored portion while the other flower is colored red. 2) thorns on the flower - the thorns on the flower on one of the variety is smaller as compared to the other variety which is relatively bigger. 3) thorns on the branches - one variety has 2-3 thorns on the branches while the other variety has 5 thorns. 4) shape of the branches - one variety has curved or sagging shaped branches (looking like a suspension bridge) while the other variety has straight shaped branches. 5) prone to disease - one variety shows signs of disease while the other variety shows no signs of disease. The stigma on the megalanthus is definitely different from the white flesh or red flesh dragon fruit. Thank you for watching. Cheers.
