There is a massive difference between a song and a film score. This piece is a complete cinematic reimagining of one of my original acoustic compositions. I wanted to take the core melody and translate it into a massive, 70mm widescreen "Spaghetti Western" soundtrack, heavily inspired by the legendary Ennio Morricone and the dusty, wide-open landscapes of classic cinema. The orchestration features twangy, surf-style western guitars, soaring string sections, and lonely, echoing whistling, all anchored by a driving, rhythmic heartbeat. To preserve the massive, natural acoustic space of the recording, the track was engineered using extreme ultra-wide panning and custom "canyon echo" stereo delays. It was mastered using very gentle VCA compression and a slow lookahead limiter to allow the 5-minute track to "breathe"—letting the quiet, brooding desert moments stay completely quiet so the dramatic standoffs hit with maximum emotional impact. Saddle up, and ride into the horizon. Credits & Process: Original Composition & Concept: Eric Lanoue Orchestration: AI-Assisted Generative Rendering (Acoustic to Cinematic Film Score) Mastering & Audio Engineering: Logic Pro X (Ultra-Wide Panning & Canyon Stereo Delays) Genre: Cinematic Film Score / Spaghetti Western / Instrumental Soundtrack About the Artist: Eric Lanouer is a composer and producer who bridges the gap between intimate acoustic performance and expansive cinematic soundscapes. Rooted in traditional composition—from complex minor-key fingerstyle guitar to driving electronic rhythms—the music is reimagined through modern generative orchestration and meticulously mastered using analog-era engineering philosophies. The result is a sound that feels simultaneously ancient and futuristic. It is music built on human intuition, expanded by modern technology, and crafted for deep listening.
