KGMB/KHNL Hawaii News Now at 5pm Saturday - RARE Breaking News Open - 7/30/2022

I didn't expect myself to stumble upon this breaking open that Hawaii News Now aired for their weekend 5pm newscast that was simulcasted on KGMB (CBS) and KHNL (NBC), so here it is, recorded on Saturday, July 30th, 2022. This is pretty much the same opens for the PM shows, as to with the other standard opens that were notably modified by their in-house team, except the only difference is to with the red Hawaiian background and the big and bold "BREAKING NEWS" text being shown. In addition to making this even rarer, breaking news stories for Hawaii have been minimal nowadays. Well, to be a bit more specific: Local breaking news stories are starting to be rare for Hawaii, with crime rates being technically low and nothing urgent happening onto the island, while for national news tending to be a different story. But for this day in Hawaii, this was no exception. There were wildfires on that day, and a Red Flag Warning was set to go into effect that next day after the recording date. But anyway, specs include the graphics being Gray's up-to-date standard, with custom modifications coming from HNN's in-house team, since it's debut on March 23rd of this year. "Aerial" continues to be the news music package for the station, composed by Stephen Arnold Music. You can hear one of the fairly and newly updated tracks that they're using for the breaking open, in which it's somewhat a similar concept that WRIC does for their breaking opens. The only difference on how HNN does it, is that they're cueing it in at a different timestamp within the track itself. This is starting to make me think the name of the theme is somewhat another breaking news theme, or it's called "PM News D", idk.
