Glass Transport Racks Glass transport racks are specialized steel structures designed to safely move and store large, flat sheets of glass within a glass manufacturing facility usually in two main designs: A-Frame and L-Buck racks, each with advantages for specific situations. A-Frame Racks: Named because there shape resembles the letter "A" with two upright sides connected by a crossbar at the top. These racks can be freestanding or have wheels for mobility. They are commonly used for storing or transporting large sheets of glass within the facility due to their wide footprint for stability. A-Frames offer a better solution for frequent handling within the facility due to their wider base and easier loading/unloading. L-Buck Racks: These racks are L-shaped with a long leg for vertical support and a shorter leg for stability. They provide a more space-efficient method for storage as they can be placed back-to-back. These racks a best suited for long-distance transport when secured with additional support and are ideal for maximizing storage space or for transporting glass when extra stability is ensured with additional support. What makes NSMC a leading fabricator of Glass racks for the glass industry? Since 1994, NSMC has been providing some of the country’s leading glass manufacturers with custom fabricated glass racks. The biggest reason we receive from our OEM customers is there durability, lasting longer than most competitive units. Safety is another big factor, years ago a glass manufacturer thad a tragic accident when a competitor’s rack collapsed and fatally injured 2 employees, the investigation identified the problem resulting from a main weld seam separating because it was stitched welded (Meaning the weld was a series of spaced apart welds) rather than a full continuous weld seam. Upon inspecting all of their glass racks, they all had stitch welded joints except the ones manufactured by NSMC. We have always strived to provide excellent workmanship, and we never cut corners on welds because we understand how important the construction of our racks are to our customers. The final reason is dependability and consistency, not only in our products but also in how we work with customers. Our customer service and project management serve to keep our customers up to speed on their orders by proactively contacting them before a problem arises. Simply put, we make the ordering, production and delivery process operate smoothly without surprises or delays. We custom manufacture both A-Frame and L-Buck racks to your prints and specifications, We review every print to ensure safety and to provide recommendations for improving manufacturability and or cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
