Ventus 2c The Ventus was developed by Schempp-Hirth in the 1980s. Since then, this model series has enjoyed great popularity and enthusiasm among leisure and competition pilots. Many more variants have been developed since then. Among other things, version 2c, which is at home in man-carrying aviation in the 18m class. The multiple swept wing leading edges typical of the model series give the Ventus a unique and graceful flight appearance. Our model, which at a scale of 1: 5 has a handy 3.6m wingspan, is made with a high-strength carbon hard shell layup in the wings. With a take-off weight of around 3700 g, the model is very light and easy to control at all times. The wing geometry and the slight V-shape give the Ventus 2c excellent properties in slow flight. In thermals, the model can be circled from slow to dynamic without becoming critical. Thanks to the high-strength layup of the wings, our Ventus 2c can also be used to fly faster flight maneuvers without having to worry about strength. The Ventus 2c has a 6-flap wing plus spoilers, which makes it very versatile. For landing we recommend the use of the flaps and, in addition, the use of the spoilers. This combination offers excellent braking and descent effects without the model becoming critical in handling. The Ventus 2c is also available with a folding impeller (self-launching) and with a scale spinner and a folding propeller. As is usual with our scalers, the fuselage is made of a fiberglass / carbon / aramid composite construction to ensure maximum durability over a long period of time. The pack size is only 1.8 m.
