So I spent the night wandering around Haikou East Railway Station, eating street food, drinking with locals, getting kicked out of a karaoke bar (politely… they even gave me a free beer), joining a hot pot I could barely understand, and trying some mystery dishes that cost about 30p — including something that honestly looked like a deep-fried parrot.
