What a beautiful day our first shooting day in Nashville, Tennessee was. The wind was cool, the sun was out, and there was plenty shade for this little tune to be made. Eliza Thorn, someone we've been trying to collaborate with for a while leading up to this, came out full stop to work with us with all the charm, the killer outfits, and the loveliest voice. In the back yard of the old Edwin House, in front of a trailer many a Nashville musicians are probably quite familiar with, Eliza's song "Moonshined" tells us a story of late regretful nights and a stubborn bronco never to be tamed. Follow the music of Eliza Thorn: / elizathornmusic Lyrics: I remember the days, you’d pass through my town Like an old-time sailor, shipwrecked and down, on your luck Looking for a hand, gilded love built like quicksand Your cheshire eyes, your, schemin' lies Straight through those bruised up lips From those fights you’d pick When you charmed me I was 22 We hung up, til sunrise, from that cartoon moon Drinking your homemade hooch Your souvenir, you’d bring me, every time We’d drink, and we’d drink, ‘til I was blind The moon, shined, on the rocks those nights The moon, shined, on the rocks those nights You knew where to find me, every time Guided by my back porch light I didn’t know where you’d come from, and when I didn’t ask questions right back then Like honey, where’d you sleep last night And whose warm body, held you tight I’m older now, I’ve sobered up But every once in awhile, I’ll pour a cup To remind me of those special times And white lightning strikes down my spine I know I’ll never see you again, but here I am, Sipping to pretend The moon, shined, on the rocks those nights Yes the moon, it shined on the rocks those nights The moon, shined, on the rocks those nights Written and Performed by Eliza Thorn with Brenna MacMillan Jordan Santiago Curated and Directed by / ryanmrobson Sound Recorded by Gabe Payan Camera Assistant Dani-Rae Clark Special Thanks to: Wannabe Farms
