The carburetor in this DIY video is off of a 1996 Arctic Cat Puma 340 cc engine and should be very similar to other carburetors used on most small engines. Briggs & Straton, Honda, Kohler, Suzuki, Yamaha, and many other engine manufacturers use carburetors that are very similar to the carb. in this video. Often times the carburetor jets need to be cleaned or replaced and often times the needle valve needs to be replaced or adjusted as shown in this video. Old fuel can clog or gum up a carburetor and often times cleaning it as demonstrated in this video will help. In this process, I determined that I had a cracked float bowl drain line and this was the source of my fuel problem. The float bowl was not filling as it was draining out, I assume this is the reason that my Mikuni carburetor was also very clean. There was no fuel sitting in the float for the last few years.
