Preheat: • Oven to 375°F (190°C), or prepare a grill for indirect heat at the same temperature. 2. Cook the Meat: • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium-high heat. • Drain any excess grease. 3. Combine Ingredients: • In a large cast iron skillet, mix the cooked meat with all beans, diced peppers, onion, and jalapeños. • Add mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, BBQ sauce, Nature’s Seasoning, smoked paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. • Mix thoroughly and adjust seasoning to taste. Add salt and pepper as needed. 4. Bake or Grill: • Oven Method: Cover with foil or a lid and bake for 1 hour. Remove cover and bake another 30 minutes to caramelize the top. • Grill Method: Place skillet on grill away from direct heat, cover grill, and cook for 1 hour. Remove cover and cook 30 more minutes for a smoky, caramelized finish. 5. Rest & Serve: • Let rest for 10–15 minutes before serving. Flavors will deepen and meld beautifully. Substitutes: • Swap ground beef/turkey with plant-based crumbles for a vegetarian version. • Use spicy BBQ sauce or add cayenne for extra heat. • No Nature’s Seasoning? Use a blend of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
