During our Dupnisa cave tour, we had a wonderful experience with excitement, fear, and the emotions of witnessing nature creating itself over millions of years. Dupnisa Mağarası Yaklaşık 180 milyon yıl önce oluşmuş olan Dupnisa Mağarası mermerler içerisinde gelişen, birbirine bağlı iki kat ve üç mağaradan oluşmuştur. Toplam uzunluğu 2720 metre olan sistemin üst katını, Kuru ve Kız mağaraları oluşturmaktadır. Gelişimini tamamlamış bu mağaralardan 50-60 metre aşağıda Sulu Mağara yer alır. İçinden devamlı akışı olan bir yer altı nehri akan ve deniz yüzeyinden 345 metre yukarıda giriş ağzı bulunan bu mağaranın toplam uzunluğu 1977 metredir. Son noktası ise, girişten 61 metre daha yukarıda yer alır. Istıranca Dağları'nı derin vadilerle yardığı, vahşi görünüme sahip bir bölgede yer alır. İlçemize bağlı Sarpdere Köyü yakınındaki mağaraların İstanbul'a uzaklığı 230 kilometredir. Dupnisa mağarası sistemi iki mağaradan oluşur. Üstteki mağara kuru mağara ,allttaki mağara sulu mağara yada dupnisa diye bilinir.Bu iki mağara birbiri ile bağlantılı olup ikisi arasımda 30 mt kot farkı bulunmaktadır.kuru mağara 900 mt sulu mağara 1700 mt olmak üzere toplam uzunluğu 2600 mt olup üstteki mağara sarkıt, dikit,sütun ve damlataş yönüyle sulu mağaraya göre daha zengindir.Sulu mağaranın girişinde karstik olarak oluşmuş bir kemer yer almaktadır.ortalama sıcaklık kuru mağarada 17 derece sulu mağarada ise 10 derecedir. Sulu mağarada ki bu oluşumlar halen devam etmektedir. Dupnisa Cave Formed approximately 180 million years ago, Dupnisa Cave consists of two interconnected floors and three caves developed within marble. The upper floor of the system, which has a total length of 2720 meters, consists of Kuru and Kız caves. Sulu Cave is located 50-60 meters below these caves that have completed their development. The total length of this cave, which has an underground river flowing continuously and has an entrance 345 meters above the sea surface, is 1977 meters. Its final point is 61 meters above the entrance. It is located in a wild region where the Istıranca Mountains are split by deep valleys. The distance between the caves near Sarpdere Village in our district and Istanbul is 230 kilometers. The Dupnisa cave system consists of two caves. The upper cave is known as a dry cave, the lower cave is known as a wet cave or dupnisa. These two caves are connected and there is a 30m difference in elevation between them. The dry cave is 900m and the wet cave is 1700m, the total length is 2600m and the upper cave is richer than the wet cave in terms of stalactites, stalagmites, columns and dripstones. There is a karst arch at the entrance of the wet cave. The average temperature is 17 degrees in the dry cave and 10 degrees in the wet cave. These formations in the wet cave are still continuing.
